This building was constructed at the east end of the laundry in 1879 for drying food. After a knitting shop was constructed at the north end of the laundry in 1886, the dry house was used for finishing sweaters and storing yarn.

The combined first floor of the laundry and dry house was later used for repairing automobiles, and an adjacent space became a woodworking shop. The vast laundry complex, after many years of modifications, has now been renovated, and much of its original equipment is still intact.

Today the building is open for visitors and holds crafts demonstrations.
