Visit Canterbury Shaker Village

Canterbury Shaker Village offers visitors a variety of entertaining, educational and engaging experiences in one of the most picturesque settings in northern New England (get directions). Guided and self-guided tours, accessible historic buildings, family activities, exhibits, educational programs, special events, unique shopping, exceptional dining and breathtaking grounds offer you more than you can do in a day.

Museum Exhibits & Tours

June 13 – September 3: Open Tuesday – Sunday, 10:00-5:00 pm

September 4 – October 27: Open daily, 10:00-5:00pm

October 28: 10:00-2:30 pm

Guided Tours at 11am and 1pm; only Carriage House Gallery open from 10:00-2:30pm

October 29 – December 3 (including Friday, November 24): Open weekends, 10:00-4:00 pm

Guided Tours at 11am and 2pm; only Carriage House Gallery open from 10:00-4:00pm

Museum Store Hours

June 13 – September 3: Open Tuesday – Sunday, 10:00 – 5:00pm

September 4 – October 27: Open daily, 10:00 – 5:00pm

October 28 – December 23: Open Tuesday – Sunday, 10:00– 4:00 pm*: The store will be closed Thanksgiving Day.

Administrative Offices

Year-round, Monday through Friday, 9:00 – 4:00 pm. Located in the Visitor Center, the administrative offices of Canterbury Shaker Village are open year-round. Contact a Village staff member to schedule a meeting or make an appointment.


General admission includes access to all guided tours, exhibits, and self-guided areas for two consecutive days.

Admissions is located on the main floor of the Visitors Center. Admission fees support the preservation of the Village, its collections, and visitor programs.

Groups of 20+ people are eligible for reduced rates with advance appointment: no additional discounts apply. To discuss scheduling or to make a reservation for your groups,  please call 603-783-9511 ext. 202. Learn about guided tour options for your group here.

Canterbury Shaker Village is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is permitted in the Visitor Center parking lot only.
Pets are not allowed in the Village; exceptions made for service animals only.

th2NWBY53GCanterbury Shaker Village welcomes active duty military, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their immediate family members to the museum free of charge from From Memorial Day (May 29, 2017) through Labor Day (September 4, 2017). Please identify yourself with your military identification to the admission staff and thank you for your service to our country.
