Canterbury Shaker Village is a National Historic Landmark and museum nestled among the rolling hills of wooded central New Hampshire. Less than an hour and a half from Boston, twenty minutes from Concord, NH, and just south of the New Hampshire Lakes Region, it is easily accessible by bus. With nearly 700 acres of forests, nature trails, gardens and ponds, as well as 25 original and 4 reconstructed Shaker buildings, Canterbury Shaker Village is a must see for any group touring the region. The museum provides guided tours, self guide buildings, exhibits, craft demonstrations, nature trails, a Museum Store that focuses on Shaker and other traditional handicrafts, and light fare at the Farm Stand. The Shakers themselves provided guided tours of the site beginning in the early 19th century, and we continue the tradition with some of the most knowledgeable, interesting, and entertaining guides in the business.
To adequately accommodate you with your own tour guide and prompt service, we request reservations for groups of 20 or more. A 20% deposit is required to hold your reservation. Deposits are refundable up to 30 days prior to the reservation date. Balance is due prior to arrival.
Prices and Packages
Our regular adult admission is $19. Groups of 20 or more receive a reduced rate of $13 per person; no other discounts or coupons apply. We supply comps for the bus driver and the group’s escort. Meal options include an a la carte menu at the Shaker Box Lunch & Farmstand, which includes a choice of sandwiches, soups, salads, and beverages. Please inquire when you make your reservation.
Procedures Upon Arrival
Your tour guide will meet your group and guide you through the admissions process. Buses drop off at our Farm Stand, located in the historic Horse Barn, and park in the bus designated area in the visitors’ parking lot.
