Sunday, September 26, 4pm: Lara Herscovitch
Lara Herscovitch is a masterful singer-songwriter, poet and performer, described in the Boston Globe as “a luminous voice and a buoyant stage presence . . . [whose] big-hearted lyrics embrace the sum of life.” She has been honored as State Troubadour of Connecticut and received Roots on the River’s annual Singer Songwriter Award. Connecticut Public Radio Host Colin McEnroe observed, “Walt Whitman would recognize his own soul in her expansive American vision.” Her concert will be a tribute to the Shakers’ Meeting House Green—another expansive American vision.
After the concert from 5 – 6pm, join us for a reception with Lara and Artists-in-Residence David Comberg & Christine Nelson.
Bring a picnic, bring a chair, and enjoy a series of concerts on the green. Concerts will be held outdoors on the lawn leading to and surrounding the Meeting House. In the event of rain, the event will be held indoors. All types of music for all ages and performances will be amplified for optimal sound quality.
Suggested donation of $10 per person.
Seating will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Parking is behind the barn (follow signs).
