(POSTPONED!) Simply Shaker, an evening of community, music, and delicious food.

Simply Shaker has been POSTPONED!

Due to forecasted extreme heat conditions, we must cancel the upcoming Simply Shaker event scheduled for June 20th. However, we are pleased to announce that Simply Shaker will be rescheduled for Thursday, September 5th when cooler temperatures will allow us to gather safely and fully enjoy the activities.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. Please spread this news to friends and other guests. Stay tuned for updates regarding the rescheduled date and further details.

4:30 PM: Meeting House Tour
Start your journey with a guided tour of the historic Meeting House led by our knowledgeable Education Manager Kyle Sandler. Learn about the rich history and unique architecture of this cherished landmark.

5:00 PM: Musical Delights and Refreshments
As the evening unfolds, immerse yourself in the soulful melodies of talented musicians while enjoying refreshments from our satellite bar. Wander through the field next to the bee house, where small tents, tables, and chairs offer cozy spots to relax and mingle.

6:00 PM: Farm-to-Table Dinner in the Horse Barn
Indulge in a delectable farm-to-table dinner experience set in the rustic charm of the Horse Barn. With a capacity for up to 100 guests, this intimate setting promises an unforgettable culinary journey shared amongst friends old and new.

Celebrate with us at a festive Picnic-on-the-Green!  Enjoy the music of the Jared Steer Trio, hear from our special guests on the importance of preserving the Village’s historic buildings, and take part in our live “Fund the Need” Auction to help fund the Village’s building assessment.

Ben Wilson, Director of NH Division of Historical Resources, will lead a presentation “Preserving What is Simply Significant” with Martha Werenfels, Principal at DBVW Architects, Providence, and Rob Emlen, Visiting Scholar in American Studies at Brown University and author of Imagining the Shakers: How the Visual Culture of Shaker Life was Pictured in the Popular Illustrated Press of Nineteenth-Century America.

Social distancing will be in place and please be sure to bring your mask. We will also have special Village masks, made by the Canterbury Sewers, for sale.
