Shaker Steward level Members at Canterbury Shaker Village help us continue some of the most exciting aspects of maintaining the village—presenting historical workshops, maintaining our gardens, archives, and collections, and hosting resident artists. Membership at the Shaker Steward level will help make this dynamic activity possible. Your Membership level will be especially valuable with the private group tour for 6 and the Gallery or Garden Barn rental, to be scheduled through our main office.

Henry Blinn Beekeepers | $1,000.00
Core Membership benefits plus:
•    Free admission for 6 adults (children and youth may accompany free of charge)
•    Private tour with up to 12 adults, available once annually by appointment Rental for up to 20 in the Gallery or Garden Barn, available once annually by appointment

Join us at the Henry Blinn Beekeeper level, assuring that your support will honor Shaker history and your creative spirit—allowing you to become an active part of that history through Membership. Elder Henry Blinn, who came to Canterbury in 1838, was one of the 19th century’s most devoted and capable Shaker leaders. In addition to teaching school and serving in the New Hampshire ministry, he was a skilled beekeeper, dentist, fine woodworker, and printer. Henry Blinn Beekeepers, as Members in this tradition of dedicated action, will receive all the privileges of membership at Steward level; your additional private tour will be conducted by the Collections Manager or Executive Director for any group of up to 12 people.

Your annual membership contribution supports the work at the Village including restoring and maintaining the historic buildings and gardens, caring for the Shaker collections and creating inspiring and educational programs and events for our visitors.

Henry Blinn Society $1,000 +

Canterbury Shaker Village honors those donors who make annual fund gifts of $1,000 or more with full membership at the Benefactor level, plus invitations to an annual event with the Board and Executive Director, special opening receptions, behind-the-scenes opportunities, and free admission to all Village special events.

Elder Henry Blinn was one of the 19th century’s most devoted and capable Shaker leaders. He came to Canterbury in 1838, and ten years later, composed a detailed large-scale map of the Village. In addition to teaching school and serving in the NH ministry, he was a skilled bee keeper, dentist, fine woodworker, and printer. He served as Church Family Elder from 1859 until his death in 1905 at the age of 80.
