Red River Theatres, in partnership with Canterbury Shaker Village, presents The Testament of Ann Lee.
The Testament of Ann Lee stars Academy Award nominee Amanda Seyfried as Ann Lee, the founding leader of the Shakers religious sect, as she forges a religious following Revolutionary-era America. From award-winning writer-director Mona Fastvold (The World to Come, The Brutalist), the film features more than a dozen traditional Shaker hymns reimagined as rapturous movements with choreography by Celia Rowlson-Hall (Vox Lux) and original songs & score by Academy Award winner Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist).
On Saturday January 31st at 4 p.m. and Sunday February 1st at 10 a.m., Red River Theatres in Concord, New Hampshire, will offer two special showings of this 2-hour and 15-minute historical musical drama. Each screening will be followed by a 45-minute discussion with Canterbury Shaker Village Curator Shirley Wajda and Archivist Renee Fox.

These post-film discussions create space for shared learning, reflection, and community connection.”
