Canterbury Shaker Village Receives $210,998 Grant

Canterbury Shaker Village has received a $210,998 Museums for America Award from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to support a three-year collections inventory and cataloging project.

Music on the Green to Welcome Dudley Laufman and Canterbury Country Dance Orchestra

Dudley Laufman and Canterbury Country Dance Orchestra will perform at Canterbury Shaker Village’s Music on the Green summer series on Sunday, August 27 at 4:00 p.m. Founder of Canterbury Country Dance Orchestra, which recorded their very first full-length LP of dance music in 1972, Laufman received a National Heritage Fellowship award in 2009, the country’s highest honor in the folk arts.

Music on the Green to Feature Peabody’s Coal Train

A local, New Hampshire-based acoustic Americana 6-piece band featuring strings and shared vocal harmonies, Peabody’s Coal Train (PCT) will return to Canterbury Shaker Village on Sunday, August 20 as part of Music on the Green.

Held on the expansive grounds of Canterbury Shaker Village, Music on the Green returns on Sunday, July 30 at 4:00 p.m. with Vital Tones, which features Chris Guzikowski, Stefanie Guzikowski, and Julie Alexander. With a blend of covers and original music, the group is known for its creative melodies and harmonies and a unique mixture of Indie Rock and Americana.

Allen James Trio to Perform at Canterbury Shaker Village

On Sunday, July 23 at 4:00 p.m., Allen James Trio will perform at Canterbury Shaker Village as part of their Music on the Green summer music series. A solo singer/guitar player who taps into the roots of folk and rock who has toured the country as a 60’s and 70’s musician, James plays music widely recognized by multiple generations.
