Symphony NH String Quartet to Perform at Canterbury Shaker Village
On Saturday, Dec. 2 at 4:00 p.m., Symphony NH String Quartet will perform at Canterbury Shaker Village as part of Concert & Cocktails.
A themed evening, Concert & Cocktails concludes with a reception featuring appetizers by Lacey Tokash Catering and a Hot Bourbon signature drink by Cold Garden Distillery in the Village’s Hubbard Gallery at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $75 and seating is limited for this special performance.
Annual Fund Campaign Underscores Importance of Shaker History
Every year, Canterbury Shaker Village engages in an Annual Fund Campaign to not just raise needed funds, but remind people of the importance of Shaker history. “The Shakers were real people,” said Maryevelyn Monty Pilotte, tour guide at the Village. “They contributed to the betterment of the world outside their communities.”

Canterbury Shaker Village Launches Annual Fund Campaign
Canterbury Shaker Village has launched its Annual Fund Campaign, a fund (and friend) raising effort designed to address gaps in its annual budget. For staff as well as members on the Board of Trustees, however, the Annual Fund Campaign also serves as a gentle reminder of the Village’s continued significance.
Daughters of the American Revolution Award $10,000 to Canterbury Shaker Village
Daughters of the American Revolution has awarded $10,000 to Canterbury Shaker Village to support the restoration of the Schoolhouse (c. 1823/63).
Begun in 2021, the multi-year project is part of a Village-wide initiative to identify and address the needs of all surviving Shaker buildings on the property.
Canterbury Shaker Village Receives $210,998 Grant
Canterbury Shaker Village has received a $210,998 Museums for America Award from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to support a three-year collections inventory and cataloging project.
Music on the Green to Welcome Dudley Laufman and Canterbury Country Dance Orchestra
Dudley Laufman and Canterbury Country Dance Orchestra will perform at Canterbury Shaker Village’s Music on the Green summer series on Sunday, August 27 at 4:00 p.m. Founder of Canterbury Country Dance Orchestra, which recorded their very first full-length LP of dance music in 1972, Laufman received a National Heritage Fellowship award in 2009, the country’s highest honor in the folk arts.
